Intermediate Interior Designer
Position Summary
Bay-IBI Group is currently seeking a talented and dynamic Intermediate Interior Designer to join our team in our Houston office. If you have a background in interior design and a proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD (2D and 3D), then this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
The successful candidate will be responsible for technical and follow-up details, space plans and elevations. They must be able to deal professionally with clients as well as contractors and other consultants. Experience in healthcare design projects is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with efforts such as programming space planning, layout and specification of furnishings and equipment, lighting and color coordination
- Develops innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budget
- Coordinates colour and material palettes
- Corrects and updates design documents
- Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards
- Co-ordinates and prepares working drawing contract documents, sketches, plans, details and schedules, using AutoCAD and Revit
- Coordinates with mechanical and electrical communications consultants
Qualifications:
- 3-8 years of experience working in Interior Design
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design from an accredited program
- LEED AP
- Demonstrated work experience utilizing AutoCAD, Revit and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of furniture specs
- An understanding of Interior Design libraries would be considered an asset
- Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, constantly-shifting priorities against strict deadlines
- Proven excellent writing skills with superior knowledge of the English language and English grammar
- Strong relationship development and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience liaising with internal and external consultants including: Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical communication through design development and project management phases.
- Able to present a portfolio of past project work
