MEMBERSHIP NEWS

The Awards Committee has launched its awards for this year to be awarded at EDSymposium12 on Thursday, May 3, 2012.  Here is a list of the awards that members are encouraged to participate and be recognized.

CHAPTER FOUNDATION AWARD (CFA) -- NEW FOR 2012!

CFA submittals are due March 30, 2012.

The Society for Design Administration’s Chapter Foundation Award (CFA) is the newest award recognition. It is an annual program designed to recognize all participating SDA chapters for their annual achievements. The point-based system is a resource for chapters to understand their strengths and to inspire their growth. Chapters may apply for this award each year, and each year a different level may be attained depending on the points attained in the prior year. This new program seeks to encourage chapters to continually evaluate themselves using the CFA tools to eventually submit for the esteemed Chapter Excellence Award. Unless otherwise noted, the CFA questions are to be answered based on your chapter's accomplishments and actions from January to December of the preceding year. The program consists of goals each chapter can strive to achieve during this time using the CFA Criteria as a guide and the CFA Score Sheet for tracking points. Each participating chapter will be required to track their success in the seven specific areas. Track your chapter’s score by completing and submitting the CFA Score Sheet to SDA Headquarters. The Awards Committee will review submissions and notify each submitting chapter of the acceptance of its CFA submittal. All chapters submitting the CFA Score Sheet and reaching one of the three levels outlined below will be recognized at EDSymposium12. Scoring is very simple. If your chapter answers “yes” to any line item, give your chapter one point. If your chapter answers “no” to any item, insert a “0” in the column or leave it blank. A formula has been added at the end of each section. Your overall total will appear on the last page. Three levels of success will be awarded, based on the number of points achieved.

Deadline for submitting your chapter's score sheet is March 30, 2012. We hope to recognize all of our chapters during the CFA's debut in Portland during EDSymposium12.

PROFILES OF SUCCESS AWARD (PSA)

Submittals for the PSA are due March 30, 2012.

For the second year, The Society for Design Administration is pleased to announce the Profiles of Success Award (PSA), a program designed to recognize all active SDA members who demonstrate their desire to enhance communication, leadership, and educational skills which ultimately foster self-confidence and personal and professional growth. The PSA Program consists of personal goals each member can strive to achieve since joining SDA by using the PSA Criteria as a guide and the PSA Score Sheet to track points. The PSA is a cumulative point system, a point system based on what each member has earned – certifications and recognitions received, educational development, involvement at both the local and national levels of SDA, etc. – since joining SDA. This type of cumulative point system allows our members to move from one level to another from year to year without losing points for a milestone not achieved the prior calendar year. PSA is a self-reporting program with five specific areas of concentration:

1. Membership/Recruitment

2. Leadership

3. Education/Professional Development

4. Events and Charitable Activities

5. Certification

Each participating member will be required to track their success in the five specific areas. Track your score by completing and submitting the PSA Score Sheet to the SDA Headquarters.

The Awards Committee will review submissions and notify each submitting member of the acceptance of their PSA submittal. All members submitting the PSA Score Sheet and reaching one of the three levels will be recognized at EDSymposium12.  Deadline for submitting your PSA Score Sheet is March 30, 2012. We hope to see all of last year's winners again and look forward to recognizing many more of our members in Portland!
